 THE DEATH OF HUMANITY

I watched this science fiction movie based on one of my friend's suggestion.

One message i can get from this movie is that humans are somehow horrible, in this movie i can see that aliens are better than humans. I do not why they made the film that way, is that some sort of message about the death of humanity that slowly but surely happens around us??

Wikus, the main character is used to be working on MNU which deals with alien affairs, to watch the alien that comes to the earth and make sure they live according to humans' rules. Well..in some ways, the aliens are like scavengers, and they made riots, but i can see that they do that to survive.

Then Wikus got infected, and has one hand like the aliens' (soon becoming an alien as a whole), and what his friends do is stay away from him, he is rejected, he tries to seek help but all he gets is isolation and becoming some medical experiment, not for science' sake but for weapons company's benefits.

So he escapes, and have an alien friend, named Christopher, who receives him and even though he is his new friend, he willing to sacrifice for him and really cares as a friend. (compared to Wikus' old friends). These aliens don't kill for no reasons, all they want to do is to get home, not to seek any benefits nor to conquer.

Why are humans no better than aliens?

Why are 'alien' somehow can be a better friend of yours rather than old friends that share stories, laughters, and miseries for years?

And according to my tittle, the death of humanity, i think may be people now care less, love less, live less..hope not to be one of a kind

MODERN versus CONVENTIONAL

I will try to be as objective as i can be, as i will not take any side, although i know exactly where I stand.

Modern is defined as present and recent time, whereas conventional is defined as ordinary, conforming to accepted standards.

What are accepted standards? who made the standards? people?society? if so, i think there are too many standards around this world, coz different society means different standards. People who live in Asia definitely have different standards with those in Europe or United States. And another question arises, who taught you those standards? your family, your friends, your neighborhood? and then if you live in modern society, people will judge you as 'old-fashioned, not cool, stereotyped, tralatitious, etc, etc..' and in the contrary people will mention you as 'too free, or too brave, mannerless, forgetting the tradition n even troubled behaviour'.

Which one sounds better in your ears anyway? or should you even bother what they will judge you?

Maybe, you should care more about which way of life suits you better? and make you feel the most comfortable

example: guys wear earrings, modern maybe think that as artistic, cool, gay whereas conventional would think that as inappropriate and even disgust them.

try this.. go home late, around 1 o'clock a.m..see what happens, what others think, does it tend to be good or bad? i'm kinda do this survey, please tell me the answers. Thank you in advance. Gracias :)
